MAEA: Exploring Oils with Palette Knife with Kris Schmidt

Tuesday - Thursday, July 12th - July 14th, 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm
This class is for artists who have experience with oil paints. I will concentrate on beach scenes and landscapes using a variety of palette knives. For the first two days, photo references will be provided, and students are welcome to bring their own for the third day. Good composition, value studies, and paint mixing will be emphasized. Students will be working on smaller linen panels and will have 2-3 completed paintings.

Students will need to bring palette knives, favorite brushes (i.e., rounds & filberts), an apron, a drawing notebook and pencils, and beach and/or landscape photo references.
