MAEA: Reduction Printmaking with Hand & Power Tools with Valerie Mann

Tuesday - Wednesday, July 12th - July 13th, 1:00 pm - 5:00 pm
Students will use various hand and power tools to make a reduction print. Starting with a birch panel, students will spend the day creating reduction designs, printing, further reducing the surface of the plate, and printing more until they are satisfied or run out of time! This will be a technique that artists can use in their own studios, but it can also replicate for the classroom. Mann aims to create a supportive, open and challenging atmosphere for students to get lost in the creative process.

Students will need to bring protective rubber gloves, a brayer (if available), a hammer, a Dremel tool (if available), rags for cleaning, and an apron.
