Raku Jack-o-Lanterns

Make your own pumpkins to light the Halloween night! Students will utilize pinch pots on the first day to create their jack-o-lanterns. On the second day (Oct. 24th), experience raku, the ancient technique that originated with the Samurai and the tea ceremony. You select and apply one of ACA’s signature crackle, iridescent or copper penny glazes. Using an outdoor kiln, right before your eyes you will witness transformation and in less than an hour be handling your finished jack-o-lantern.
